Coffee bar Café Central at the Plaza de la Constitución is one of those famous long established cafeterías. It has been around since 1930 and quickly gained fame, and in the 50s it was a place packed with talent when painters, writers and singers would meet up here to discuss everyday Spanish life as well as their love for art and culture. Its renovation in 2008 gave the place a more contemporary look without detracting from its character.
Nowadays Café Central is a particular popular tourist place, with its location at Málaga’s central square and its famous mosaic tile wall. Being opened all day, it’s the perfect place to enjoy a desayuno as well as a merienda or a late evening espresso. In a rush? Café Central boasts its own take away coffee bar.
